"Beim Schnurrbart von Pleksy-Glads!"

Very cool thing! There is a lot going on, but the colors make it look quite calm :)

Edit: It also reminds of "13 Geister".

thanks, and i'm glad you like this; i hope i wasn't a dick in the comments of your work - in this fractal by Pasternak you can see that the basic pattern repeats at many scales, which he did with with the L-system program Structure Synth structuresynth.sourceforge.net… and it's direct (raw) output from the rendering program Indigo Renderer (except for the credit text)

by defining the structure in terms of a repeating pattern (the L-system), this is truly a fractal structure that is limited only by the amount of memory that we can throw at the creation of the actual geometry data, and the resolution of the image rendered. (plus all the data structures a 3D renderer needs)

i've heard you're really damn good, and that from someone who is really damn good :)

i'm pretty good at writing fractal renderers, so naturally i try to hook up :D

...:P now I'm flattered.
I only enjoy playing with fractal software, but I'm really out of shape (I've been years inactive)
I'm trying to get the hang of it again.

Very cool :-) Have this also on my mind (to create some structure synth stuff) but had not the time yet. I think a good renderer is the key.

both are necessary, neither are sufficient ;)

Yeah, but I meant it in another way: it really makes big fun if you have the possibility to use some great renderer. And I'm currently not sure were to place the focus (integrate the renderer - "sunflow" in my case - or create a structure which can be easily processed by most of the state-of-the-art products).

it's a tricky business for sure, and not everyone can afford to spend the lifetime on rendering as i did

Fortunately todays computer's are fast enough that nobody needs to spend the whole lifetime any more :-)

i was referring to spending a lifetime learning to program one (as our discussion started)... rendering time is the least of those problems, i agree ;)

Well, I see. But I also think that this is not the perfect place to start such a conversation :-) I would really look forward to delve into this - maybe one day in the chat :-)

nearly... i should have used lens shift instead of a narrow FOV, i realised after. indigo doesn't actually support an isometric cam yet, it's on the todo list tho :D

i agree, it has much more visible structure, whereas this is more abstract and dissociated... they are complementary :meditate:
